Amar Prem is one of the immortal movies in the history of Indian Cinema for its storyline,acting,songs,lyrics etc. Its hard to choose among the songs but my personal favorite from the movie is " Yeh Kya Hua". A gem from the collaboration of Pancham Da, Bakshi Sahab and Kishore Da.

He is and will always be an inspiration to the upcoming singers.......

I was always facinated by Pakistani singers and musicians. My love affair started with Mehdi Hasan Sahab. My dad had a old collection of all his Gazals ! (But ofcourse, I was not suppose to touch it ;-) ..). Then came Purani Jeans which was a craze in school days. Later got into Nusarat Fateh Ali Khan Sahab and I thought I just heard GOD ! During college days I drifted to rock music but somewhere down the line I heard Sajjad Ali's "Pehle Saal" and Waqar Ali's " Mera Naam Hai Mohabbat" and I was back to track again ;-). Infact after coming to US, only hindi music I ever listen to is Pakistani ;-) Yeah my friends tease me for that..but well I believe, we have serious talent across the border and its our misfortune that we can't get to hear them much.
Pakistani Pop/Rock music has evolved over the years. To name a few, listen to singers/bands like Vital Signs,Junoon, Meekal Hasan, Noori,Sajjad Ali, Ahmed Jehanzeb, Jal, Fuzon, Strings, and you wonder why not many people know about them ! If you like Hindi Pop/Rock then this is it ! and not the stupid remix thing. When I hear a remix of an old song it just kills me :- ..Yep we have lot of talent/underground bands in India too but it will take a while for bands to come up, as our film music industry is giant and only people who can produce consistently good songs can survive. We do get to see some bright sparks sometimes but usually they are just one song wonders :-))
I feel there are some songs by singers, to which no one can ever do justice as the original. " Ab To Aadat Si Hai" is one of that kind. If you haven't heard it before, then listen to the original song by Atif Aslam from his Album ( not the one from the movie ) and you will know what I mean ;-). But ofcourse after that you wouldn't want to listen to mine ..hehe ....
The track is not that of a good quality but I was just glad to even get an instrumental track for this song ! I hope you like it ... If you are a fan of Atif ..please dont kill me ..hehe ...

Well this is my first attempt at Audio Blogging and trust me I'm finding it difficult ! Well I will try my best, you have read it so far..so lets keep this momentum going ...;-)
I consider myself of a new generation and it was obvious that I would be inspired by new singers. Although Rafi Sahab and Kishore Kumar are legendary singers and every one would be lying if they say they were never influenced by their singing but what impressed me most about Udit Narayan was his distinctive voice and original style of singing.
QSQT is still one of the best romantic movies made in Bollywood and part of success goes to the evergreen music of the film. The film made stars out of all - Amir, Juhi, Udit and Alka Yagnik. The one song I like the most from the movie is - Papa Kehte Hai. Udit's youthful sounding voice is perfect and was a absolute match for screen voice of Amir.
One of the arts of playback singing is mimicking actors voices to such an extent that the playback song sounds as though the actor is actually singing it ! Rafi Sahab was voice of Rajendra Kumar, Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand, Kishore Kumar was voice of Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bacchan whereas Mukesh was for Raj Kapoor.
This song was recorded by me long time back and back then knew little about mixing. Recording/Mixing is an art and I am still learning it. Hopefully will make some progress in near future !
